On June 4–5, 2025, the MSc Program in Drug Regulatory Affairs and Policy (DRAP) program of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Bio-Med Innotech Association (HKBMIA), have successfully hosted a CMC training workshop.
The theme of the training was Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC). Delivered through a collaborative effort by four expert instructors, the workshop featured a comprehensive structure: the first day focused on in-depth theoretical lectures, while the second day offered case studies and hands-on practice. This format provided participants from the industry with well-rounded and systematic training.
In recent years, the Hong Kong SAR Government has been actively promoting the development of the local biotechnology industry. CMC is a critical component in the biotech field. Whether one is engaged in production, R&D, investment, academia, education, or government, a solid understanding of CMC is essential for enhancing research and manufacturing efficiency.
