DRAP Seminar on Global Clinical Development of Innovative Drugs Successfully Held on 14 November
The DRAP program successfully hosted a seminar on 14 November, featuring Dr. Bin Peng, MD/PhD from Peking University Clinical Research Institute, as the keynote speaker. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Sunny Tam.
Dr. Peng delivered an insightful talk on the global clinical development of innovative drugs, covering the importance of internationalized clinical research, challenges in target therapy development, and landmark cases such as Glivec, Gefitinib, and the evolving c-MET story leading to the approval of Capmatinib in multiple regions worldwide. His presentation highlighted how ethnic differences, biomarker-based patient enrichment, and multinational trial strategies contribute to improving drug development success rates.
The seminar attracted active participation from both DRAP postgraduate students and undergraduate students, who engaged in meaningful discussions about the future of innovative drug development in a globalized context.
At the end of the event, the newly elected ISPE Student Chapter officers gave a brief self-introduction, marking the beginning of their service in supporting academic and professional activities within the DRAP community.
